General description
CD64 is the high-affinity IgG Fc receptor belonging to the immunoglobulin supergene family (Guyre, 2002). CD64 is a 72 kDa glycoprotein which binds monomeric IgG (human IgG>>IgG>>>IgG4>>>IgG2 and mouse IgG3>IgG2a>>>IgG1, IgG2b). Three genes: FcγR1A, FcγR1B and FcγR1C, which have >98 percent identity at the nucleotide level, have been identified and mapped to chromosome 1, band q21.1 (Sun,1997)). The FcγR1A gene, which specified the high-affinity IgG receptor, encodes three C2-type Ig-like extracellular domains, a 21 amino acid transmembrane region, and a charge cytoplasmic tail of 61 amino acids (Sun, 1997)(van de Winkel,1993).
